University of Reading- Alumni Tours 2009

University of Reading Tours

The University of Reading Alumni Office has teamed up with IMAtravel to offer a number of special tours for our members. The tours are intended to be both educational and entertaining for like-minded alumni travellers. It’s a formula which works successfully for other UK universities. We hope you enjoy them.

IMA and the perceptive traveller

IMA is the leading designer and operator of Alumni tours in the United Kingdom. We bring decades of experience to bear in arranging that vital combination of learning and leisure.

Troy & and Aegean Cruise : May 2009

Istanbul is one of THE great cities of the world. It was the Roman port of Byzantium, then Constantinople and then Istanbul, capital of the Ottoman Empire. After travelling by land via Troy, Pergamon and Miletus, we join our own classic yachts to cruise along the Aegean Coast. It’s a perfect way to relax and to absorb the ambience of the epic past.

Whales, Wine & Wildflowers : Sept 2009

The Cape of Good Hope is the Mediterranean of the southern Hemisphere - balmy weather, blue seas, fine wines and spectacular scenery. We visit in springtime, when the Cape is covered in vast carpets of wildflowers. With our carefully chosen boutique accommodation, fine wines, picturesque scenery and unique flora and fauna, nowhere else in Africa can you see such variety in so much comfort.

Galapagos & Ecuador: November 2009

Following several recent successful Galapagos cruises, we offer Reading Alumni a tour of these ‘enchanted islands’. After a stopover in the Andes – visiting 'colonial' Quito and the Avenue of the Volcanoes – we join our privately chartered ship for an eight day voyage and thread our way to several of the islands and the mainconservation sites to see the boobies, frigates, sea lions, giant tortoises, albatrosses and much more.
