A travel ‘must’
– Darwin Bicentennial
2009 marks the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth and also marks 150 years since the publication of his seminal work 'On the Origin of Species'. What better time to follow in his footsteps to the naturalist’s paradise of the Galapagos Islands, 600 miles off Ecuador’s Pacific coast, and experience first hand the astonishing ecology which contributed to his pivotal theory of evolution
World Heritage high in the Andes
The tour begins in the Andes at Quito, northern
extent of the Inca Empire. We visit Colonial Quito,
one of the forst cities to be accorded World Heritage status, with its many churches and colonial buildings, plus
the Avenue of the Volcanoes, amid stunning mountain scenery
Our own expedition cruiser
Flying to the Galapagos, we shall embark the CORAL II, a German built cruiser
newly refurbished for the Galapagos. She has 11 fully
air conditioned outside cabins – 6 Standard Cabins, and 5 Upper Cabins(minimum area 10 sq
meters), with double or twin beds and private toilet/shower
room. She has a spacious lounge, bar and dining room,
with sun deck. She will visit all the main sites in
the Galapagos, with excellent accompanying naturalists.
